The 2nd Island Dynamics Conference’s theme was how island identities evolve alongside their cultures and economies. The event featured over 100 speakers from 39 sovereign states and territories.

1st Island Dynamics Conference

7-10 May 2009, Shetland, UK

1st Island Dynamics Conference programme.

The 1st Island Dynamics Conference’s theme was the role of islands as meeting places for cultures. The event featured 57 speakers from 22 sovereign states and territories. The programme included a ‘Perspectives on Island Autonomy’ series with participation from island politicians and high-ranking civil servants.
