Biography

Godfrey Baldacchino (born 1960) PhD (Warwick, UK) is full professor of sociology and Canada research chair in Island Studies at University of Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown, Canada; visiting professor of sociology at University of Malta; and executive editor of Island Studies Journal . Baldacchino is an international advisory board member for The Round Table: Commonwealth Journal of International Affairs; international advisory board member for Asia Pacific Viewpoint; editorial board member for INSULA (UNESCO); council member of International Small Islands Studies Association; council member of the International Geographical Union’s Commission on Islands; academic advisory board chair of Åland International Institute of Comparative Island Studies (AICIS); and www.islandstudies.ca moderator.

Baldacchino acted as keynote speaker at the 2nd Island Dynamics Conference.
