Biography

Adam Grydehøj is founder and Director of Island Dynamics. He holds a BA from The Evergreen State College, USA and a PhD in Ethnology from the Elphinstone Institute, University of Aberdeen, UK. Grydehøj’s enthographic research has concerned Northern European island communities and bridges the gap between the humanities and social sciences. Grydehøj is convenor of the Island Dynamics Conferences and is responsible for the general operations of Island Dynamics.

Grydehøj sits on the editorial board of Shima: The International Journal of Research into Island Cultures and is co-convenor of the American Folklore Society’s Mediterranean Studies Section.
