3rd Island Dynamics Conference

14‒18 May 2013, Gazimağusa (Famagusta), North Cyprus

The 3rd Island Dynamics Conference explores maritime and island studies worldwide. The event’s theme is “islands of culture and practice”. Although talks are welcome on any island or maritime topic, we particularly encourage presentations on how traditions – whether artistic, religious, economic, political, etc. – develop in culturally and geographically insular communities and on what island and mainland communities can tell us about one another. The deadline for abstracts is 1 October 2012.

Abstract submission and review.

Presentations last 20 minutes and are in English and Turkish (simultaneous translation is provided for Turkish talks). Proposals are considered on a rolling basis: If you make a proposal early, you may be able to register at a reduced rate. For more information or to join the mailing list, contact Adam Grydehøj at agrydehoj@islanddynamics.org.
